What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a safe, gentle, clinically proven hair removal treatment which breaks the cycle of hair growth by targeting the hair root or follicle. Suitable for all skin types it works on all hair types except white or silver.
How does it work and what should I expect?
Light energy is transferred through the skin’s surface and is absorbed by the melanin present in the hair shaft. The absorbed light energy is converted to heat energy (below the surface of the skin), which disables the hair follicle thus preventing further growth. The sensation felt in treatments varies from person to person with most people describing it as a slight tingling sensation. People with coarse and/or very dark hair may experience an initial sensation similar to that of a gentle flick against the skin.
However due to our hairs being in different phases of growth most areas of the face and body will require at least 6 to 8 treatments, to be taken at least 4 weeks apart to ensure that the hair follicle is completely dormant.

In order to assist us in launching IPL into the Salon, we’ve partnered with a specialist skincare consultant, Loraine Doherty. Loraine has a background in skincare development and training and we have already worked with Loraine for a number of years due to her extensive knowledge of skincare concerns. In fact it was Loraine who helped us successfully launch the BeautyLab range into the Salon. Loraine has been working with IPL for over 17 years so initially she will ensure that all clients get the best possible results.
Loraine will be available for consultations and treatments on the first Monday of each month starting on Monday 3rd December. A full consultation will be undertaken prior to your first treatment.

A course of 3 will usually receive a 10% discount however all courses of 3 paid for by January 7th 2019 will receive a 20% discount off the normal price.
